Sunningdale Garden

Garden pathSunningdale garden covers some ¾ acre at Grange Court, Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire. It has been my home for the last 18 years, during which time I have radically altered the garden by developing some 20 beds around the garden and planting several thousand plants.

The bungalow occupies the centre of the site. In the first two years of my occupancy I had a 30 ft greenhouse erected and developed some six flower beds, constructing about three per year after that for several years. Border grassesThe garden is now mature (in areas overgrown) and work consists of keeping things within control. A pond has been built into a slope (proving that the solid clay goes down at least nine feet without respite) and several new beds developed including the two show beds for the genus Phlomis.
