betonicoides
means with betony like leaves.

through much earlier.

leaves 2.5–8 × 1–3.5 cm, toothed and sessile. Flowering
stems unbranched, 30–80 cm, bearing up to 8 whorls of many
flowers. Bracteoles dark purple, linear subulate to 13 mm,
ciliate. Calyx tubular to campanulate, to 13 mm; teeth, spreading, 2–4 mm. Corolla purple, to 18 mm. Nutlets hairless. Hardy to –15°C
