Ayr and Arran Group

Ayrshire & Arran

The Ayrshire & Arran Group is one of five NCCPG Groups in Scotland. There are five holders of Plant Collections and these collections are detailed on the National Plant Collections® pages.

Members meet regularly in S.A.C. Auchincruive, Ayr to enjoy a programme of talks and lectures on gardening, conservation and our collections. These meetings are free to members except for our special guest lectures when well - known horticulturists address the Group. Visitors are welcome at any of our meetings at a charge of £3

An annual plant sale is held each year in private gardens and members are encouraged to bring plants from their gardens for sale.

Study and craft days take place as well as visits to gardens. In addition members receive twice yearly copies of Plant Heritage, the NCCPG magazine from the National Office and our own local Newsletters, three times a year. There are opportunities to participate in the Plant Exchange scheme which offers plants rarely, if ever found in nurseries.
