North Wales
The North Wales Group of Plant Heritage covers the counties of Ynys Mon/ Anglesey, Gwynedd, Sir Conwy/Conwy County Borough, Sir Ddimbych/Denbighshire, Sir Fflint/Flintshire and Sir Wrecsam/Wrexham County.
The meeting venues have moved around over the years but tend to be central to the north mainland coast, which is towards the eastern side of the full group area. We currently meet in Cricket Club, near to the Public Library, in St Asaph, very close to the A55.
We have a Plant Fair early in the season, and another Plant Fair in August, each year with local and specialist Nurseries, and held at weekends. Throughout the year there are monthly talks (evenings) and garden visits (evenings and occasional Saturdays or Sundays). In recent years we have added a Potato Day when you can come along and buy a very wide range of seed potatoes, by the single tuber if you wish, with a selection of onion and shallot sets and a wide range of vegetable seeds.
We do not produce a group newsletter anymore, but the new programme each year is sent out with the officer elecation material around Christmas time.
