Pepperpots herb nursery and Chawton House Library

Group visit

Neil and Catherine, who own Pepperpots Nursery, grow their own herbs, producing them without the use of artificial heat or light and sell them at farmers’ markets and online. Neil will lead a tour of their site near Alton, Hampshire. We will have lunch at the Greyfriars pub in Chawton and then visit the Chawton House Library, home of Jane Austen’s brother, which she visited frequently. Andrew Bentley, the garden manager, will lead a tour of the garden, particularly the herb garden, for which Pepperpots has provided many of the plants.

The cost is £15 (lunch is not included in the cost). The deadline for booking the tour is Tuesday, May 1, 2018. The chairman will email more details closer to the time.
