Plant Heritage Marquee to merge with Floral Marquee at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016

This year for the first time the Plant Heritage Marquee will be merging with the Floral Marquee at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 5 – 10 July 2016. Many of our National Plant Collection® Holders are regular Floral Marquee exhibitors, so it is beneficial to bring together in one place and increase exposure to, all the wonderful displays from our hard working Collection Holders.

Sarah Quarterman, Chief Executive Officer, Plant Heritage said:

“We’re delighted that moving to the Floral Marquee will mean that we are bringing together displays of National Plant Collections in one place to be able to increase exposure of the work of the Collection Holders, whether private individuals, Gardens or regular Floral Marquee exhibitors. Collection Holders work incredibly hard every year to produce wonderful displays highlighting some particularly rare and unusual cultivars and educating visitors on the importance of the conservation of cultivated plants.”

Exhibiting for Plant Heritage will be:

• Two National Plant Collections of Iris: Anne Milner’s collection of Iris (introductions by Arthur J Bliss) and Sarah Cook’s collection of Iris (Sir Cedric Morris introductions)
• Linda Heywood’s (Echium World) new National Plant Collection of Echium spp., & cvs., from the Macaronesian Islands
• Philip Oostenbrink’s National Plant Collection of Hakonechloa macra & cvs.
• Kristopher Harper’s (James Lye Fuchsias) National Plant Collection of Fuchsia cvs. (introduced by James Lye)
• Jonathan Hogarth’s National Plant Collection of Hosta (small & miniature)
• Paul Harris’s (Brookfield Plants) National Plant Collection of Hemerocallis with the RHS AGM
• Barry Clarke’s National Plant Collection of Rubus spp.
