Benefits of Membership

Plant Heritage members are helping to save our garden plants.

Active conservation of our cultivated plants is vital and anyone can get involved. Your support is very important to our work in plant conservation. As a member you can attend any of our events across the country for free (unless a specified ticket cost) with access to rare and unsual plants through our activities:

  • plant sales with rare and unusual plants
  • free, annual Plant Exchange
  • talks, workshops and demonstrations from leading horticulturists
  • visits to gardens, nurseries and National Plant Collection Holders
  • become a Plant Guardian and nurture a rare plant in your garden or house
  • choose Membership Plus to record up to 500 plants in your private garden, on Persephone, our online plant recording system. You can include photos, compare plant names and even map your plants if you wish.

Our members receive:

  • the National Plant Collections Directory annually, listing details of how to contact and visit our experts
  • The Journal twice a year, full of articles from our National Collection Holders
  • bi-monthly enewsletters focussed on plant conservation and to keep up to date with our news and events
  • local Group newsletters
  • A special joining gift of Johnsons Seeds (whilst stock last)
