Bergenia ciliata ‘Patricia Furness’

Description:
Named by Alan Furness of Hexham for his wife, this cultivar originated in the garden of Randle Blair Cooke (1880-1973), Kilbryde, Corbridge. Mr Cooke gardened at Kilbryde for some 50+ years, and maintained a notable collection of Rhododendron with some 130 specimens. Many of his plants are said to have been relocated to Moorbank Botanic Garden in Newcastle which subsequently closed in 2013.
