Forsythia × intermedia ‘Primulina’

Description:
A chance seedling discovered in 1912 by the dendrologist Alfred Rehder (1863-1949) whilst working at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, N. America's oldest public arboretum. It displayed soft paler yellow flowers than other cultivars and subsequently produced a sport noted by Mr Hovarth of Ohio. This sport, a single branch significantly more floriferous with larger flowers, came into cultivation as ‘Spring Glory’ and went on to outshine the parent plant in popularity.
