Plant Guardians

Camellia × williamsii ‘Elizabeth Anderson’

Description:
Raised by Dr Hazley Anderson, Cobley Camellias, Birmingham and named for one his daughters. Dr Anderson hybridised camellias as a hobby. Elizabeth was one of seven seedlings from a cross between made in 1964 between C. saluenensis and C. japonica ‘Lavinia Maggi’. Five other introductions were listed and named for Janie, Judith, Kate, Mollie & Rosie Anderson. The seventh introduction, never formerly registered, was a white doubled flowered form that Hazley had intended to name for himself.
