Plant Guardians

Acacia mucronata

Description:
Narrow-leaf Wattle. Native of south-eastern Australia, particularly southern New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. As with most Acacia the seed leaves mature to flattened leaf-like stems known as phyllodes. Typical wattle flowers are abundant in spring, its native habitat covers a range of altitudes from sea-level to the highland regions. Flowers and seeds have edible uses. Grows best in full sun on sandy soils, and will tolerate dry and nutritionally poor soils.
