Brassia aurantiaca

Description:
Pseudobulbous epiphyte with a native range of Columbia to NW Venezuela. Considered a cool growing orchid, it is found in its native habitat at elevations between 2100-2300 meters in cloud forest regions. Grows best with good light, humidity, and a minimum growing temperature of 12°C. Flowering period is late winter to early spring. The striking orange flowers are pollinated by hummingbirds & wasps and are displayed along inflorescences of 30 to 50cm, with up to 18 flowers per stem.
