Earliest known listing in Jules Menoreau Nursery Catalogue, 1886 & describes 'The flower has a characteristic boss of unopened petals in its centre until it is almost fully blown. Plant habit, compact and bushy. Originated at Nantes, France. This was listed for many years by Henri Guichard, Nantes, France during which time it was confused with Paolina Guichardini.' Rose pink, double flowers with darker veins, glossy, dark green, evergreen leaves of variable size and shape with serrated margins
