Description:
Myrtle Wattle, Red-stemmed Wattle. Shrub to 2 metres with distinctive red-stems and cream globular flowers. As with most Acacia the seed leaves mature to flattened leaf-like stems known as phyllodes. Considered one of the earliest Australian plants introduced to cultivation in Europe. Prefers well drained soils in full sun, prune lightly after flowering to encourage bushy growth habit. Has some frost tolerance in its native habitat.
