Gloucestershire Garden Plants [A-C]

An exhibit by the NCCPG Gloucestershire Group at the Chelsea Flower Show featured plants whose 'birthplace' or springboard into cultivation had Gloucestershire associations. Garden plants don't just happen; they are usually the work of a keen hybridiser or a selection made by an eagle-eyed garden owner or nurseryman. Others are newly introduced from the wild. The lists that follow are based on those created by John & Daphne Chappell of Cinderdine Cottage, Dymock near Newent, Gloucestershire. The Severnside Cottage Garden Society is now helping to propagate many of these plants to keep them in circulation. Note that a few of the plants listed are for the conservatory rather than the garden.
