Vinca major (Apocynaceae family)is
a native of Europe and is a trailerwith
flowers up to 2" across as opposed to the smaller Vinca
minor. Of rapid growth and also available with variegated
foliage. The greater periwinkle has also been used medicinally
as an astringent and for treating haemorrhages.
