Allium
karataviense (Alliaceae family) is from Central Asia and
has broad pairs of grey-green elliptic basal leaves. The pale
pink flowers are about 3 inches across and have purple mid-ribs.
The name indicates that it comes from the Kara Tau or Black
Mountains in Kazakhstan.
