We are one of the smaller Plant Heritage groups, with an enthusiastic
membership and an eclectic mix of National Plant Collections®.
Visitors from other groups and non-members are made very welcome to attend our events.
We run a programme of talks, garden visits and social events.
Our talks take place at Verulamium Roman Museum, St. Michael's Street, St. Albans.
Talks usually last about an hour, followed by refreshments and a chance to
talk to the speaker and local members afterwards.
We have a new venue for our Grand Plant Sale which has been held at Capel Manor College, Enfield since April
1996. Our plant sale takes place at the Gardens of the Rose, Chiswell Green, St. Albans,
which reopened in June 2007; the home of one of our National Plant Collections®. We are
inviting all our regular specialist nurseries, including those who in recent years have been unable to attend
because of the clash of dates with the Harrogate Spring Show. The date for
2009 is Sunday 28th June, an
ideal time of year to enjoy the roses in all their glory. The event will be well advertised and we hope to
see all our regular visitors as well as new visitors.

Conservation through cultivation
Plant Heritage seeks to conserve, document, promote and make available Great Britain's and Ireland's
great biodiversity of garden plants for the benefit of horticulture, education and science.
In 2009, NCCPG adopted the working title of "Plant
Heritage", a name that is easier for the public to
identify. (NCCPG remains its legal title.)
