Ayr and Arran Group

Ayr and Arran

The Ayrshire & Arran Group is one of five NCCPG Groups in Scotland. There are three holders of Plant Collections and these collections are detailed on the National Plant Collections® pages.

Members meet regularly in The Alloway Church Hall, Ayr to enjoy a programme of talks and lectures on gardening, conservation and our collections. These meetings are free to members except for our special guest lecture when a well - known horticulturist addresses the Group.  This lecture is normally held in the Alloway Village Hall (not the Church Hall)
Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings at a charge of £4 for a normal meeting and by paying the ticket price for the Guest Lecture.

An annual plant sale is held each year in a private garden and members are encouraged to bring plants from their gardens for sale.

Study and craft days take place as well as visits to gardens. In addition members receive twice yearly copies of Plant Heritage, the NCCPG magazine from the National Office and our own local Newsletter. There are opportunities to participate in the Plant Exchange scheme which offers plants rarely, if ever found in nurseries.
