Shropshire Group

Shropshire

The Shropshire group of Plant Heritage has just under a 100 members in a geographically widespread area - Shropshire is a large and underpopulated county, having a large range of habitats.

The group hosts an impressive range of collections - some 20 genera. The linked listing on the main webpages provides details of the genera and holders. Some people manage more than one collection.

We are always pleased to see new people at our meetings, there is a charge of £3 for a visitor.   Our programme runs from September to May with monthly talks given by experts in their field.  There are occasional pracrical workshops and the chance to help with our plant sale in May for which we propagate all own plants.  We also have a presence at Shrewsbury Flower Show.

We meet, usually on the 2nd Thursday of the month, in Shrewsbury.  It looks as though we have been successful in finding a new home, meetings will be at Guildhall, University Centre Shrewsbury until May and we hope thereafter although this is still to be confirmed.  For further details please contact either of the committee members listed below.

If you would like to find out more or have recently moved to the area and would like to continue an existing involvement in PH then please contact Margaret Shaw (Membership Secretary) email: m-j-shaw@lineone.net Tel: 01743 356697or Anne Pugh (Secretary) email: annepugh25@gmail.con Tel: 01952 247204.
