Plant Heritage is delighted to announce that National Collection Holders have scooped 15 Gold Awards for their displays in the Great Pavilion at the Chelsea Flower Show this year.
The months of hard work and planning were rewarded for Don Billington, who displayed for the second time at Chelsea this year with his National Collections of Aechmea, Billbergia and Neoregelia, and Crug Farm Plants who displayed a staggering number of plants brought back from their travels in Vietnam and South America, as well as a brand new genus from Vietnam.
Gold awards have also been presented to Gold awards have also been presented to Tale Valley Nursery (Rhodohyproxis and Rhodoxis), Hillier Nurseries (12 NC's), National Dahlia Collection, Westcountry Nurseries (Lupinus), W&S Lockyer (Primula auricula), Bowden Hostas (Hosta), David Austin Roses Ltd (English Roses bred by David Austin), Dibleys Nurseries (Streptocarpus), Downderry Nursery (Lavandula), Peter Beales Roses (Rosa spp) and Plantagogo (Heuchera x Heucherella and Tiarella).
Silver Gilt Flora Awards have been presented to The Botanic Nursery for its display of Digitalis, Hoyland Plant Centre (Agapanthas), Fibrex Nurseries (Pelargonium) and Tynings Climbers for its Passiflora.
