Death of Michael Upward & Thanksgiving Service

We were very sad to learn of the death of Michael Upward recently.

Michael was Secretary of the Alpine Garden Society (AGS) for much of his professional life and he was always a staunch supporter of Plant Heritage.

On retirement from the AGS Michael became Chairman of the Worcestershire Group of Plant Heritage. At various times Michael also served as Council representative, Secretary, organised the annual Plant Fair, was Newsletter Editor and producer, Treasurer and latterly Vice President.

You can read a tribute to Michael on the AGS website.

A Thanksgiving Service in memory of Michael is to be held at Pershore Abbey on Wednesday, 6 May 2015 at 12.00 noon. The family have requested no flowers please but donations can be sent to 'Perennial' (Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society).

The Worcestershire Group will be represented at the Thanksgiving service on May 6th.
