Razvan Chisu

Razvan is a member of the Cheshire Group and has recently become National Collections Coordinator for Cheshire. He is also a Plant Guardian for several rare and unusual plants.

"A few years ago my friend Jane Simpson (she used to have the National Collection of Osteospermum) took me to a Plant Heritage meeting to listen to a talk.

Of course I joined soon after and being young and enthusiastic I couldn't refuse when I was asked to be a committee member.

Plant talks, plant fairs, likeminded gardeners, workshops and visiting National Collections (in my role as Coordinator) are all great aspects of Plant Heritage membership.

For me though the most rewarding aspect is being involved in the Plant Guardian scheme, through which anyone with an interest in plant conservation can take an active role.

Currently I am a Plant Guardian for several tender Petrocosmea species and cultivars (lots of red labels on my windowsills) and a special Hepatica transsilvanica endemic to my home country."
